Wholesale Dart Shaft O-Ring

One of the most commonly overlooked parts of a dart is the o-ring on the dart shaft, and for a good reason.wholesale dart shaft o-ring The o-ring has a very important role to play when it comes to dart shooting and is often ignored entirely by novice dart players. But before we go into why it's so important, let's look at the mechanics of the dart shaft.

The shaft of a dart is made up of a series of links or grooves that are bonded together at their ends.wholesale dart shaft o-ring There are two types of links - straight and angled. These two types are usually designed in such a way as to make the ball spin faster or slower depending on the speed required. Each type of links is made up of several grooves. These grooves in turn allow the shaft to be flexed and bent at different points during the flight of a dart.

When the player aims and hits a dart against a hard surface (such as a table), they will cause a sudden snap of the shaft which causes the ball to move in a circular motion. This circular motion causes the ball to hit the ground, and in doing so, the ball creates a shockwave which makes the ball travel in a circular fashion. This shockwave causes a crackling sound, which is known as 'shot'. It is this very noise that is produced by the o-ring on the shaft.

When this crackling noise is produced, it can damage the shaft's surface and therefore makes the shaft unsuitable for use with some types of darts. Because of this, a shaft o-ring must be placed onto the shaft's surface to help protect it from damage, and to reduce the noise it produces.

In many cases, this damage can easily be repaired, but if it doesn't work, a replacement should be bought, which could easily cost hundreds of pounds. However, because a shaft o-ring is made from a low quality piece of plastic, it tends not to last as long as the other shaft materials used in many other sports, and even when it does, it doesn't perform as well.

If you've never owned a dart shaft before or are new to playing the sport, it can be tempting to buy a cheap quality o-ring for your dartboard. - but be careful. Cheap dart shafts may actually cost more than quality ones! As a rule, quality shafts are made of more expensive metals, such as stainless steel, gold, copper, titanium or aluminium, and although they are slightly more expensive than plastic ones, they are far less likely to break or bend, or snap.
